What is Xenon Light?
High Intensity Discharge (HID) is a new type of lighting technology that differs from the conventional halogen bulbs that use heated tungsten filaments. Unlike Halogen lamps, High-Intensity-Discharge (HID) lamps do not have filaments but create light by the arc between two electrodes. The arc activates the Xenon, which in turn ignites the metal halide. In an HID Xenon lighting system, the voltage between the two electrodes rises firstly from 12V to 23000V and keeps stable at 8000V by using the Xenon HID ballasts system. Due to the ultra high voltage, the Xenon gas ionises and a super-bright beam is produced.
How to install the HID system?
The installation is very easy. For beginners it can take approximately 30 minutes. All wiring connections are Plug & Play. No wire cutting, soldering or rewiring required. All connectors are colour coded. This ensures that they can only be connected in the correct way. Instructions of full installation are included. If in any doubt, we do suggest you to get an auto electrician to install them.
What does the XENON HID light system kit includes?
We will supply you with all of the necessary components and hardware to install this system into your vehicle. Each kit includes: two XENON bulbs, two ballasts with all necessary wiring, cable ties, two ballast brackets, manual and waranty card.
What is Lumen (lm)?
The international unit (SI) of luminous flux (quantity of lights). For example, a dinner candle produces about 12 lumens and a standard 60-watt incandescent bulb produces 830 lumens. The higher the number is, the brighter the light is.
What is Kelvin (K)?
A basic unit of thermodynamic temperature (colour temperature) used to measure the whiteness of the light output. The higher the number is, the whiter the light is. When over 5000K the light begins to turn in to a blue colour, as it is a daylight.
Does not the use of Xenon lamps cause more irritation amongst other drivers?
The International regulations on light distribution and intensity on the road are very strict. Xenon light falls well within these standards. Less light is reflected into the eyes of oncoming drivers on properly set height units.
What bulb fitment is my vehicle?
We recomend you to take out a bulb from your vehicle and check the marking on the metal base of the bulb. You should be looking out for H-1, H-4, 9006, HB3 etc. Or you can look up here: Osram
What are the advantages of Xenon Light?
HID consumes twice less energy
Less energy it uses, less petrol your vehicle consumes
Less petrol consumption, less harm to the environment
Safe drive at night and evening
Lifetime average is three times longer than of ordinary bulbs
XENON AND HALOGEN LIGHTS COMPARSION TABLE

Halogen lamp

HID

Difference

Outer cover glass

Normal quartz glass

UV-CTU ultraviolet quartz glass

HID’ s cover produces glare and a good filter effect

Lighting mode

Tungsten filament burning after electrified

The positive and negative electrodes stimulate the Xenon and rare metals occur a chemical reaction and lighting.

Tungsten filament has a too high temperature to be damaged but HID will not expire until the Xenon is used up. HID will become dim slowly until going out when there is no Xenon.

Color temperature

2000K-3000K

4300K-10000K

The color temperature about 6000K is the beginning of white turning to blue and it’s easy for human’s eyes to accept. It won’t make eyes tired and enhanced the safety while the Halogen lamp can’t do so.

Illumination

700-1000

3200

The date shows the illumination of HID is 3 times than that of halogen lamp and it’s helpful of enhancing sight’s definition during driving at night or in the rain and fog.

Power consumption

55W-65W/5.5A

35W/3A

HID saving almost half of the energy which a halogen lamp should use and saving energy means saving gas

Using life

280-400 hours

3000-3500 hours

Obviously, HID will work much more time and a long life means economical
